{"id":2078,"date":"2011-10-01T22:32:41","date_gmt":"2011-10-02T05:32:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.soleillapierre.ca\/blog\/?p=2078"},"modified":"2011-10-01T22:32:41","modified_gmt":"2011-10-02T05:32:41","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.soleillapierre.ca\/blog\/?p=2078","title":{"rendered":"Home!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2011\/10\/01<\/p>\n<p>Drove from Sicamous to Vancouver today, taking alternate routes via Kelowna and the back way from Hope just for variety.<\/p>\n<p>Lousy weather today &#8211; heavy rain most of the way, some very dark clouds near Hope, and driving through the clouds themselves much of the way:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.soleillapierre.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1132.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-top: 0px;border: 0px\" src=\"http:\/\/www.soleillapierre.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/IMG_1132_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1132\" width=\"640\" height=\"422\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not a whole lot to say.\u00a0 I&#8217;m home, my physical trip is finished. (The conceptual trip, of course, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.soleillapierre.ca\/blog\/?p=637\">finishes where it started<\/a>, but I&#8217;ve already done that part.)<\/p>\n<p>I was away from home for 54 days total.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll post some statistics about the trip in a week or so once I have all the numbers.<\/p>\n<p>As for summarizing feelings &#8211; I&#8217;ll have to think about it for a while, but I&#8217;m really glad I did this.\u00a0 Most importantly, I put some old ghosts to rest (like my memories of the farm in Manitoba) and formed some adult impressions of the eastern provinces to supplement my vague childhood memories.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to everyone who supported me along the way!<\/p>\n<p>[gmap file=&#8221;__UPLOAD__\/2011\/10\/20111001.kml&#8221; center=&#8221;files&#8221; zoom=&#8221;auto&#8221; visible=&#8221;true&#8221; type=&#8221;satellite&#8221;] <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2011\/10\/01 Drove from Sicamous to Vancouver today, taking alternate routes via Kelowna and the back way from Hope just for variety.
